Inspired by Gordon Watts I am starting a blog to record what happens to me in the Open Science Grid a project I have been asked to represent as Executive Director.
Now I have to go outside of the physics think of computing and learn and help other scientists to use our distributed computing infrastructures aka the Grid.
Just like Gordon I am now at the Tata Institute seeing at first hand the small black boxes on wheels (taxis) and the 622mbit link from here to Europe in the same breath.
I am on vacation – a vacation spent listening to the latest in software and hardware for physics grids, interspersed with watching the alert faces of the throngs walking along the roadways.
